SUI's Ministry specialist, Becky Swamickan, reflects on how Scripture Union International has developed its focus on Creation Care as part of its focus for ministry with children, young people and families.
A “real Mary Poppins” with the children 🌟
When Sinai College in Brisbane found itself without a chaplain, Candy stepped into the gap with a big heart and a simple approach: “Keep going in love. Just show care and love… be present.”
From supporting children with school anxiety to building trust across cultures, Candy’s presence has made a real difference in the lives of students, staff and families.
Her story is a beautiful reminder of what it means to love our neighbours through everyday acts of care. ❤️

Building the future of the nation - that's the kind of impact Scripture Union in Nigeria is having on young people who take part in their programs.
Through Bible guides and mentoring, SU staff and volunteers are able to have a huge impact on young people, who become leaders themselves.
SU Nigeria has run a successful Pilgrims Program for many years. Their ‘graduates’ become part of an alumni group which enables them to continue their association with SU long after they have left school.

Across Scotland, Scripture Union is equipping young people to grow in faith, discover their God-given purpose, and lead with confidence. Through initiatives like GO Conference, Basecamp, LeadUP, and COmMISSION, young people are being discipled, trained, and empowered to make a difference in their churches, schools, and communities.
Ryan's journey is just one example. What began at a Scripture Union Scotland camp led him to GO Conference and eventually to serving on a mission trip to Rwanda - a life-changing experience that deepened his faith and shaped his future.
