The tour itself will be arranged and delivered on our behalf by Sirios Travel, a specialist provider of guided tours since 1988. Although similar to other Greek Biblical Tours that are available, this tour has been tailored specifically to Scripture Union and will be delivered in a uniquely Scripture Union manner! Each day will start with a short Bible reflection and the tour guides - as well as being very experienced professionals – are all part of SU Greece and can expound Biblical texts in profoundly contextual ways. There will be a short presentation about Scripture Union International, giving you the opportunity to hear about our work around the world, and of course, there will be the typical SU style of having fun with other like-minded people!
Please be aware that whilst the tour itself will not be too arduous, there will be times when it will be hot and the ground uneven. However, Sirios Travel is a highly experienced provider of ‘medical care & silver+ tourism’, so they can arrange suitable care and attention where this may be required.
Who will be the guides?
On this tour, your professional tour guide will be Voula Kalapoda. Voula has many years experience as a professional tour guide in and around Greece and you will find her to be exceptionally well informed and very engaging.
Your host will be Glenn Coombs who has worked with SU Australia movements for nearly 40 years. He is also a member of the SU International Team where his focus is to assist SU movements around the world to improve their Sustainability.
We are also delighted to have Dr Sylvia Collinson joining to lead us in the daily Bible devotion. Sylvia is a previous New Testament lecturer from Morling Theological college in Sydney, and a long-time supporter of Scripture Union.
Who can come:
The tour is ideal for adults, couples, small groups etc. Although children are welcome, the tour might not be ideally suited for them, especially not younger children.
