Scripture Union International takes your privacy seriously. The information you provide through our website will be held under the Data Protection Act 1998.

We know that your privacy is very important to you. We recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of information that we may collect from online visitors.

You are really valuable to us and so your privacy matters. We will only ask you for the information we need, and we will only use it for as long as we need to. We do not usually collect sensitive personal information about you unless there is a clear reason for doing so, such as involvement in an event where we need this information to ensure safeguarding, and appropriate checks on volunteers, or care of participants. For some events we will collect health information so that leaders on our events have the relevant information to care for participants. We will make it clear to you when collecting this information as to what we are collecting and why.

We don’t pass on your personal information to other organisations for marketing purposes. What we do with any personal information you give us is really important and we owe it to you to treat your data with care.

Whoever you are and whatever role you play in Scripture Union International, we want to be clear about the information we collect from you and what we do with it. Our privacy policy is below.

OUR PRIVACY POLICY IS...

o We collect information from different people who engage with SUI (prayer partners, global and national staff and volunteers, supporters, donors, committee members)

o We collect this information so that we can communicate with you, or where relevant run successful gatherings.

o We only collect and use information which we need or which you have agreed that we can use.

o We endeavour to make it as easy as possible for you to up date your information, withdraw your consent, and access your information.

o We are careful with your information and work hard to make sure it is held securely.

o We never sell your data or share it with other organisations for their own purposes. We will only share data if there is a legal requirement to do so.

o Where we use other organisations to provide a (such as Mailchimp to contact people by email), they have been selected carefully to ensure they also treat your data securely, and they will only use your data as instructed by us.

o You can update your information or ask us to stop contacting you at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the end of any email we send.

Credit and debit card payment information

If you use your credit or debit card to donate to us, these are processed through Paypal and we do not receive or retain any of the credit card information

Why do we collect and how do we use your information?

We may collect your personal information for a number of reasons, such as:

• to process any donation(s) we may receive from you
• to ask for your support for our charity, in accordance with your preferences
• to provide you with information about our work or our activities that you have asked to

• for internal record keeping, such as the management of feedback or complaints

The accuracy of your information
