A key aspect that SU continues to believe in and amplify through its practice is local leadership. We do not direct but do. We do not manage but lead. We do not send but go. SU India set up a department which would help respond in the aftermath of the tsunami that ravaged the southern coast in India. Although the Ministry to Children in Crisis was a new initiative, this enabled SU India to live out the faith in vulnerable communities.
