Work Relationally
We prioritise the importance of relationships in all our ministry because this combines the value of the individual with the power of working together.
John Dean, a legend in SU circles, talked about ‘to train and trust’. “It has taken courage and faith at times to trust the good name of Scripture Union to young people with little training or experience”, he once said. He set the tone for prioritising relationships, which is shared to this day. A good example of this is volunteer teams serving alongside staff in refugee camps in Uganda. SU Uganda and SU South Sudan have joined hands to reach out to a number of displaced South Sudanese, in one of the largest refugee camps.
